[ rant ]
OK so this particular post is a work in progress and the "full" version will be posted here once I have all the pix and stuff gathered.
Many of you who are into art and design and stuff of that nature may have come across a project called "Pixel Notes" on various websites and blogs and such. It is a fantastic piece from a design contest in 2004 called "New Walls, Please!" where it won 2nd prize, where multishaded post it notes are glued to the wall and as you peel them off to use them, your wall literally looks like it's becoming pixellated. If you google it, you will see that it has spread around the world and is fairly well known in the art circles (you can also see pictures of the project there as well).
Well here is the problem as it stands today. The immensely talented Sirkka Hammer came up with the concept and design of the project. If you look at posts on webistes from near the original contest date, you will see she is always solely credited with winning 2nd prize as well as "coming up" with the idea.
Unfortunately for Sirkka, her boyfriend at the time helped her glue up the notes to the wall. I say unfortunately because if you look at more recent web posts on her project you'll notice "Duncan Wilson" being credited either solely or as "Duncan Wilson in collaboration with Sirkka Hammer" on these pages.
This is a travesty. Crediting him with creating the project is like giving the guy who laid bricks at the Sistine Chapel, credit for the painting Michaelangelo put on the ceiling. It would be dishonest to say the least.
Sadly, it would appear that Mr. Wilson (and I use the term "Mr." begrudgingly) has decided to try to launch one last parting shot at his ex and attempt to take credit for her work. It's a really sad and pathetic display and one that should be shunned and derided as it is the lowest of the low any artist could do. Taking credit for someone else's artwork is lower than murder as an artist.
So if you happen upon a web page that says anyone but Sirkka Hammer has created this project, please be so kind to gently correct the author and tell him/her that it is, in fact, a Sirkka Hammer project.

Sirkka is a near & dear friend of mine and shouldn't have to put up with crap like this from a loathesome, petulant fool to get the credit she rightly deserves for her outstanding work.
Thanks!

Do I know you?!?! I don't really think I would have the right to write something like that about you as I don't know you, even if it was the opinion of your ex. The only thing I can say about you is that you are gullible and easily manipulated.
Duncan
1. What leads you to believe that I am her ex? Stalk much?
2. You are oh so clever aren't you? You feel you'd have no right to say something about someone you don't know and then proceed to suggest that I am a "gullible and easily manipulated" person...a person you don't know... Have we been studying satire lately?
Was my language strong? Sure. I stated why in the post. I have a problem with people whom I perceive as trying to take credit for other's work. On top of that, the strong language is what keeps the asses in the seats, babycakes ;)
3. As I stated in reference to your other comments, if you have solid evidence to the contrary, I will gladly amend the posts. GLADLY. I have done research independent of anyone else's "opinion" and have arrived at my findings. Again, provide proof to the contrary and I will gladly amend/re-write the posts in the reverse as they are now. I'm waiting...but not holding my breath.
p.s. thanks for coming. I update regularly. ;)
I don't believe you are her ex. I meant that if an ex of yours started bad-mouthing about you (to me) I wouldn't take it as truth and would not write about it on the internet. I might suspect it was a bit of bitterness and resentment.
'My ass in the seat' please! First of all the way you wrote about me in your post just seemed bitter, immature and personal. That's what I meant about it being embarrassing. You could easily say that you believe that I have committed some kind of massive wrong doing without being so petty. I'm guessing that it probably made Sirkka feel better.
Please outline what kind of proof and to the contrary of what you need and I'll do my best
Duncan
As for gullible and easily manipulated - I don't know you, but if you have believed what Sirkka has obviously told you about the pixelnotes project then you are most certainly both of the above.
1) fair enough. misunderstood your reference to an "ex" thought you were inferring something else.
2) it does keep asses in the seats. no one wants to read civility on the internet these days. ;) "Pettiness" and "bitterness" is what got you to make your impassioned response, yes? I got what I was looking for. I didn't exactly make the post with the presupposition that you would never see it after all. ;)
3) Proof: anything you feel is definitive. I am more than willing to keep and open mind.
Touché! Well baited!
if being "gullible and easily manipulated" for giving the initial benefit of the doubt to friends is indeed a sign of those particular character flaws, then I am proud to exhibit both and can only hope you and the rest of the world find them in yourselves.
Money, looks, fortune and fame are all in finite supply. The seeds of friendship properly sewn will bloom eternal; however the rotten fruits of the ill maintained will certainly remain a foul taste on the tongue long after they have been spoiled by the gullet.
Yeah?
